Server Service Life

compared to air-cooled servers

  • Single-phase immersion cooling is a highly efficient process in which servers or electronic components are immersed in a dielectric, electrically non-conductive liquid without it evaporating. The liquid absorbs the heat generated and is cooled by a pump through a heat exchanger. The result: high cooling performance, reduced energy consumption, and reliable protection of the hardware from environmental influences.

  • The BitHeat Model One can be operated in any standard room, provided that the following basic requirements are met: Connection options to the heating system, a stable power connection, a network connection, a functioning smoke detector in accordance with local fire safety regulations, and a room climate with an ambient temperature of 5°C to 40°C. If these conditions are met, the device can be installed without any further structural measures and put into operation immediately.

  • The BitHeat Model One is a compact edge-cloud computing system designed exclusively for servers that are suitable for immersion – conventional servers can not be installed in the current first generation. The housing contains up to four standardised 1HE slots that can be flexibly assigned. Each occupied slot configuration utilises highly efficient immersion-cooling, which dissipates heat directly into the building infrastructure. This allows the system to be tailored precisely to the desired performance and storage requirements, while future revisions can integrate additional CPU server variants (and later GPU options) without changing the housing.

  • The BitHeat Model One bears the CE mark and is therefore certified according to the relevant EU directives (RED-directive etc.). This conformity allows it to be freely sold and operated in all member states of the European Union and in the European Economic Area (EEA – Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein). However, individual countries have their own installation and safety requirements. As long as these are met, the BitHeat Model One can be used anywhere in Europe.

  • The BitHeat Model One comes with an app that allows users to view real-time data on temperature, power consumption, and utilization from anywhere and receive notifications in the event of critical incidents. This app is currently still in development.
